Joanna L. Zander, 90

Joanna L. Zander, 90, of Peach Bottom passed away on December 9, 2018 at Conestoga View. Born in Lancaster, she was one of 14 children of the late Amos L. and Anna L. (Leaman) Sheaffer.
A homemaker, Joanna loved cooking and gardening. Growing up on a farm, she learned to grow her own vegetables and make canned goods, which she sold at Market. Joanna enjoyed travelling. Especially to see her family which had grown and spread from Wyoming to Florida and to go on vacations with them to places like the Outer Banks. She was incredibly caring and supportive to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Joanna will be remembered for her kind nature and the love she gave to everyone around her.
Surviving are Joanna’s four children; Leonard Zander (Karen), Amos Zander (Jean), Linda Hartzell (John), Joan Sheets (Frank), brother, Frank Sheaffer (Sandy), sister Myrtle Walker, 12 grandchildren, 20 grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her siblings; Amos, John, Mildred, Mary, Esther, George, Charles, Ralph, and Jacob Sheaffer, E. Elizabeth Funk, and Nancy Wood, her daughter Evelyn Baas, and her husband John Zander.
Services will be held at 8:45am on Saturday December 15, 2018 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster PA, 17602. A Viewing will be held prior to services starting at 8:00am. Interment will follow at Mt. Eden Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Joanna’s memory to Mt. Eden Lutheran Church, where she was a member, at 1241 May Post Office Rd, Quarryville, PA 17566.
