My memories of Joan go back to childhood when my friends and I would go to Woolworth shopping for nail Polish and candy! I was very excited when I started working at LG H and found her again. I saw Joan,   it seems like only a few weeks ago and sat with her in the cafeteria. I was always excited to see her visiting the hospital after she retired so that I could remind her that she is never forgotten and always missed. I reminded her of how often  I hold her up as an example of a strong determined hard working woman because people just don’t have that kind of work ethic anymore. She was always very proud of that. She also beamed with pride every time she had a new picture of her grandbabies to show me.  I hope the grandchildren grow up hearing all the wonderful stories that people have to share about her and know how much she was admired.

“You’re still here,” I would say, every time I brought a patient to your ED and we would grin as if we knew the punch line to some unspoken quip.  Amid the turmoil, I admired your determination, your wit and your work ethic.  It was an honor to know you, Joan.  May God bless you always.

Although retired, Joan was a member of our ER family.  She could run circles around any younger employee.  She was spunky and tolerated our pranking her regularly.  She will be missed but never forgotten💔. Love ya!!

Joan was a huge part of the ER family at LGH.  She was loved and appreciated by many!  She was the BEST housekeeper ever and always told me if I opened a bakery (since I baked all the time for my coworkers) she would keep it very clean for me AND I believed her.  She will be dearly missed.  Condolences to her family!

Joan!!! I’m saddened to hear of her passing. But, oh so blessed to have known her. I had the pleasure of working with her at Woolworths. Best times ever. Joan let you and everyone else know exactly how she felt. I loved that!! No room for error there! She was an awesome mentor, and had a work ethic that I still use to this day. “It’s your job, don’t blame anyone else for something your in control of”. I’m going to miss our talks and hugs. She knew how to make you laugh. Know this, she was an amazing, strong, funny, intelligent, and giving soul. I’ll miss her smile. My prayers and thoughts are with you all at this time. Heaven has definetly gained another Angel. Joan, you are loved!!

Oh how I loved this lady.  She made me laugh.  Did an excellent job clean the E D.  I recently had the pleasure to help Joan with something she needed from our Human Resorce department.  She wanted to give me something for helping her.  I told her the pleasure was mine in order to help. Two days later she dropped me off a card.  Well Joan that card is on my desk and will remain there.  Every time I look it, I’ll remember you. love you friend Deb Culp

Oh how I Love Joan. She will forever be a part of my memories.  She was the best part of LGH when I worked with her in the ER. She was loving, funny and ruthless all in one. Everyone respected her, loved her, or feared her(must have been her scowl).  Joan would yell at me when I would pick her up at her apt. On James St., to go to work. She’d tell me about her shopping trips with her sister I believe it was to Walmart  on Tuesdays I think. About buying the teeth whiteners for  her granddaughter (Kellys) and then when that same granddaughter had her 1st baby, that’s All I heard about.  How her clothes was tiny, she smelled perfect, she was perfect. Joan always spoke highly of her family to me. We spoke about her past, and I know it wasn’t easy at times emotional but I’m honored that she confided in me. Joan has always been in my heart and thoughts. I’m sadden to neve6hear her voice again or see her. But I’m glad to have known her at all. Deepest Condolences to you ALL!!
