Joan Lee (Geesey) Ressel, 72, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on October 25, 2018 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy.
Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Elsie (Reed) Geesey and was of the Methodist faith. Joan was married to Barry R. Ressel and shared 53 years together.
She retired from the Manheim Auto Auction and enjoyed traveling, the beach and, most of all, her grandchildren. Joan was a 1964 graduate of J.P. McCaskey High School.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are her two children: Barry R. Ressel Jr. of Mount Joy, and Michelle , wife of Robert Pawling of Palmyra; and her 3 grandchildren Gabriel, Liam, and Mason Pawling.
The family would like to convey a special thank you to everyone at the Hospice care facility at Mount Joy.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in honor of Joan to the Humane League of Lancaster County, 2195 Lincoln Hwy East. Lancaster,PA 17602.

I was saddened to hear about Joan’s passing. Your Wife, Mother, and Grandmother was a vital part of the start of my career here at Manheim. She laid a solid foundation for me to grow on by teaching me every aspect of her job when I was hired to be her teammate. She held back nothting when training me and it enabled me to get a true understanding of how things worked. In my first 5 years at Manheim, she was like a Mother to me and helped me look at things differently and grow personally. She cared for me and my daughter in many ways. I remember the delight in her eyes when she announced she was going to be a grandmother. She was so proud of her children and grand children and she talked about you all the time. I was blessed to have known her and your family. Thank you for sharing her with me. I will be praying for your family. ~ Faith

Michelle, I was saddened to read of your mother’s passing. I remember how joyful she was at your wedding!
