Jeanne Edwards Tesnar, 94

Jeanne Edwards Tesnar, 94, formerly of Manheim Township, passed away at Mennonite Home on Saturday, December 16, 2023. She was the wife of the late Edward F. Tesnar, for 56 years before his death in 2008.

Born in Hershey, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Hinkle) Edwards.

Jeanne graduated from Lebanon Valley College and earned her Reading Specialist Certificate at Millersville State College She previously worked as a Reading Specialist in the Lampeter-Strasburg School District. Along with her husband Ed, she owned and operated Little People Daycare in Palmyra for 21 years. They were both very compassionate, generous, and dedicated to the numerous families they met over the years at the daycare.

Family was especially important to Jeanne. She cherished spending time with them and going on family vacations to Ocean City, NJ. She enjoyed reading, knitting, shopping, socializing, listening to music, and dancing.

Jeanne is survived by her daughters, Barbara Schober, wife of John of Lititz, and Susan Urbach, wife of Erich of Florida, her son, James Tesnar of Santa Barbara, California, and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanne was preceded in death by three brothers.

Private interment will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery where Jeanne will join Edward.
