Jannette “Jan” MacKenzie Bergeron, 95

Jannette “Jan” MacKenzie Bergeron died peacefully at her home in Lititz, Pa. with family at her side on February 16, 2018. She was 95.
Jannette was born in Carpentersville, Ill. to John Andrews and Edith Baresel and raised in nearby Elgin. In 1944, she graduated from the Sherman Hospital School of Nursing.
A proud military veteran, Jannette served seven years in the U.S. Army Corps. After enlisting in 1945, her service took her abroad to Germany and through the Panama Canal aboard the Shamrock Hospital ship. After retiring at the rank of Major, she went on to work as a civilian registered nurse in hospitals in Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.
She and her husband of 67 years, Clifford M. Bergeron, raised their three daughters in East Greenwich, R.I. and Warminster, Pa. before retiring to Lititz. They enjoyed summering by the seashore in Jamestown, R.I.
In addition to her husband, Jannette is survived by her daughters Patricia Dupuis (Donald), Lorraine Bergeron and Carolyn Bergeron; and loving granddaughters Emily and Allison Dupuis and Andrea and Sarah Croak. She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Vivian Erskine; brothers William and Donald Andrews and Charles “Jack” Erskine; and beloved Yorkshire Terrier, Mac.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
