Janice Marie (Rineer) Haines Groff, 70

Janice Marie (Rineer) Haines Groff, 70, of Thompsontown, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2013 in her residence with her son John by her side.
John’s sisters and the extended family wish to offer a heartfelt “thank you” to him for the loving care he gave Janice during her illness.
Born in Lancaster, she was the wife of Donald H. Groff of Thompsontown, and the daughter of the late Roy Earl and Helen Elizabeth (Yecker) Rineer.
Janice loved working on crossword puzzles and reading Reader’s Digest. She was an excellent baker and canner and was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
She attended the Church of God and Prophecy in East Salem.
In addition to her husband of 38 years, she is survived by her children: Susan M. Haines and a beloved son-in-law John Rivera of Lancaster; John C. Haines of Thompsontown; and Bonnie L. Haines Kikta (Edward) of Quarryville; five grandchildren: Michael (Patricia) Rivera, Roger Haines, Melissa (David) Ruiz, Brian Arentz, and Nina Haines; three great grandchildren: John Michael Torres, Mason David Leister, Bryson Lee Arentz; and a sister, Joni Ray (Charles) of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a brother, James Rineer.
Memorial services will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Janice’s memory may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Ste. 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.

I was very, very sorry to learn of Janice’s passing I can still see my cousin as a young girl when she was still living at home in Conestoga. I have some wonderful pictures of her to remember her by.
