Janice E. “Jan” Reifsnyder, 81

Janice E. “Jan” Hafer Reifsnyder, 81, resident of Pequea, PA died Friday, August 13, 2021. She was the widow of the late Woody “Sherwood” Reifsnyder. Born in Reading, PA to the late Robert Hafer and Edith (Fisher) Hafer.
She graduated from Conrad Weiser High School and from the Reading Hospital School of Nursing and the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She worked at the Wernersville State Hospital for 35 years, retiring as Director of Nursing in 1994.
Jan is survived by her son, Troy and daughter in law, Sherry Reifsnyder. She had three stepchildren, Jo Ann Mezaraups, Cindy Long and Bret Reifsnyder. Also surviving are 5 step grandchildren and 9 step great grandchildren.
As per her wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services.

I knew both Jan and her sister, Mary Ellen from growing up in Wernersville. Jan and I sent Christmas cards to each other every year.
I’m so sorry to hear of her passing. I’m also sorry to hear of Mary Ellen’s passing. I’m sure they are both happy in heaven!

Graduated with Jan in 1960 from Reading Hospital school of nursing. She was a great nurse. Fellow snowbird. Enjoyed seeing her at our class breakfasts. My condolences to her family.

Troy: So sorry for the Lise of your Mom. I am shocked. I had to track down all the information to find you thru the funeral homes here and there.I would appreciate hearing what happened since MaryEllens funeral(I stood next to you behind Jan). I woul liketo share information with people who liked her in her career and in life in general. She meant a lot to myself and others .Carolyn Hausman ( Tut or Tutter as she called me)
