Jane F. Reese, 89

Jane F. Reese, 89, of Lancaster, died Thursday at Country Meadows Retirement Community.

Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Christina Roeser Mowery. She was the wife of the late Melo T. Reese.

Jane was a graduate of Columbia High School. She was a bank teller and vault attendant for Hamilton Bank, now Wachovia. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph Hospital for 25 years. Jane was a devoted member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church for over 65 years.

Surviving are her sons, Michael Reese, husband of Vickie of Mount Joy, and Joseph Reese, companion of Wayne Oas of Lancaster, grandchildren, Thomas Reese, husband of Judy of Columbia, MD, Christine Reese of Lancaster, Beth Staman, wife of Steven of Lancaster, and Jane Horst, wife of Christopher of Gordonville, 7 great grandchildren, and a sister, Margaret Watson of Atlanta, GA.

The family wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Country Meadows Retirement Community for the loving care extended to Jane during her stay there.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 501 E. Orange St., Lancaster, on Saturday April 14, at 11AM. Friends will be received at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, Inc., 414 E. King St., from 9:30 to 10:30AM on Saturday  Interment in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Jane’s memory to St. Anthony Catholic Church or Hospice of Lancaster County, P.O. 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604.
