James Thomas Cabbell, Sr., 71

James Thomas Cabbell, Sr., 71, of Manheim Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at UPMC Pinnacle, Harrisburg. Born in Plainfield NJ, he was the son of the late Ralph and Mary (Woodson) Cabbell, and the beloved husband Eve Marie (Carrillo) Cabbell.
James graduated from Plainfield High School, where he played football and was a member of the track team. He received a Bachelor’s degree from New Jersey City State University. A member of the U.S. Marine Corps, James honorably served his country during Vietnam, and for 23 years served with the 78th Division Army Reserves.
In addition to his beloved wife Eve, James is survived by sons, Lamar A. Cabbell and his wife Lois, and James T. Cabbell, II and his wife Althea, both of Somerset, NJ, and Christopher J. Calderon and his wife Graciela of Union city, NJ. Also surviving is a step-son, Dr. Rayfield Proctor, of GA; a brother, Houston Cabbell and his wife Carolyn of Atlanta, GA; a sister, Caroline Johnson and her husband Frank of Edison, NJ; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Along with his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Florence Brown, and brothers Ralph, Harold, David and Vincent Cabbell.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. James’ final resting place will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be offered to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603, or to the American Diabetes Association at donations.diabetes.org.

I am so sorry for your loss. I am a former classmate of James. He was always a gentleman, friendly and kind. I am sure that he will be missed by all those who knew him. I hope that your loving memories of him will bring you comfort.
