Dear Helen and Jimmy Jr.

I recently ran into John Kirchner and learned of the passing of Jimmy.  I am so very sorry for your lose.  I considered Jim a friend and always enjoyed being around him.  He had a great spirit about him.  I often thought about him after he left the beer dist.  Some times I would see Andy and he would fill me in how Jim was and what he was doing.

Again I am sorry for your loss and I will have good thought for you and Jimmy Jr.

Ron Henderson

To the Kirchner family:
My sincere condolences to all of you for your loss of Jim.
Very sincerely,

Jim was a good friend for many years.  I remember well the good times had at the "Quarry".  I remember riding with Jim when we has to stop at every other gas station to fill up the small tank on his show bike.  It was fun going over to the distributor on Wednesday’s watching Hullabaloo and seeing little Jimmie and Klete play, and the card games weren’t bad either. I am glad I knew him.

I’ll always remember Jimmy.  I lived on Poplar Street from 1952 til 1969, and I and George Heisler rode on the truck with Jimmy often.  He loved music and would play the radio (LOUD!) the entire time, singing along with the songs.

His specialty was preparing Ham Subs for Saturdays, which was always a special event at Kirchner’s Distributorship on Poplar St.   He, Andy, Tommy and everyone else would participate.  He made a fabulous ham sub.

He was full of life and I lost track of him sometime after the ’70s, but I did hear several years ago he was having health problems.

I’m absolutely sure he’s in a great place right now, singing the songs he loved so much (he had a wonderful voice) and readying a place for his loved ones for the time when they come to meet him.

God bless you all, and please accept my fondest condolences. He was so full of life, and would want us to carry on.

Best regards always,
