James P. “Jimmy” Leiby

Major James P. Leiby died due to a prolonged illness on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Lancaster General Hospital.
Born in Lancaster, he was the husband of Elin Yuliana “Julie” Leiby, and the son of the late Herbert and Carrie (Todd) Leiby.
James enjoyed tennis and travel, and was the Director of Southeast Asian Sales for ERIKS pte ltd.
He received his BA from Kansas State University, and his Masters in International Business from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
James proudly served his country as a Special Forces and Tactical Intelligence Staff Officer in the US Army Infantry during the Vietnam War. He was awarded numerous commendations, including the Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze and 2 silver service stars, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with silver star and palm, Presidential Unit Citation, Meritorious Unit Commendation, and Army Commendation Medal among others.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Lana Leiby and her husband Ron Pabis; a son, Thomas Leiby and his husband Jake Miller; 2 grandchildren, Nina and Nate; and a brother, Jack Leiby.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
