James F. Parr, 77
James Frederick Parr, 77, of Millersville died Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Alonzo John and Kate May Burke Parr. He was married to Marilyn Schippert Parr for 53 years. Fred was a retired chemical engineer and a member of TORCH. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.
Surviving besides his wife are three children: Matthew husband of Karen Parr Millersville, Pa, Jenny Parr wife of Joseph Mouat, Pottstown, Pa, Rachel wife of Michael Shopf of West Chester, Pa, four grandchildren and a sister, Betty Kuhr of Clinton Twp., Michigan. Fred was preceded in death by a sister, Leila Buehring
A Memorial Service will be held at Brethren In Christ Church in Millersville, 3116 Blue Rock Road on Saturday, January 17, 2009 at 11:00AM. Friends may greet the family at the church from 10-11:00am on January 17th. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made in Fred’s memory to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA.17603 or a Charity of your choice. Arrangements are by the Charles F. I want to express my deepest sorrow for your loss. In the short time that I knew your husband and father, I could tell that he was truly a wonderful man.
