James E. Stuchel
June 27, 2020
Jim Stuchel, the self-proclaimed Mayor of 42nd Street, and Prince of Manhattan, has hoisted his final Dewar’s 12! A salesman for Acorn Press, Jim loved to travel the world and traveled regularly to New York City for business and Broadway Shows. Jim loved the City that Never Sleeps more than, golf, NASCAR, or football. But more than that, he loved Lancaster and the people in it.
Jim is survived by his siblings: Marcia, Nancy, and Greg; by his children Jim, Jansen, and Jennifer; and his granddaughter Kylie.
A Christian Prayer Service will be held in Jim’s memory on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 1:30PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lancaster, PA. Friends will be received by his family following the service. Please omit flowers, making contributions in his memory to the American Heart Assn. Lancaster Chapter, 4250 Crums Mill Road, Suite 100 Harrisburg, PA 17112.

I met Jim way back in 2007 at a networking event in NYC and we developed a great friendship. I had newly started a business back then and Jim offered a compassionate word whenever I struggled, an ever-welcoming smile that made you feel everything would be okay and genuine friendship. We lost touch over the years and this morning I wondered where my old friend is, and stumbled on to this memorial. Jim, thank you for everything. Rest in peace my friend! My belated condolences to Jim’s family and friends. – Raheem Sarcar

To Jansen,
Please accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of your Dad. I remember him from your high school lacrosse games, cheering you on from the sidelines, and oh, by the way, wearing very trendy coveralls! He didn’t look much like the very successful businessman from New York. He was certainly an enigma.
I also remember exactly where you were when 9/11 happened (my classroom) and how you told me you needed to leave the school immediately to go home and check to see where your Dad and stepmother were (New York), and if they were safe. I told you to ignore the school authorities and trusted that you would do the right thing. You did, and accepted the school consequences. That was the day that you became a man.I’m sure that your Dad was proud of you.
Please convey my condolences to Jimmy and Jennifer.
Sincerely,
Tessie Hunt

Jimmy was our neighbor. He was a wonderful person to know. Our thoughts are with Jim, Jansen, and Jennifer. Thinking of Marcia, Nancy and Greg, too. He will be missed. We can think of no one else who had such a gusto for life and New York City. Rest well, Prince of Manhattan.
