James E. “Yumpin” Clawges, Sr., 59

James E. “Yumpin” Clawges, Sr., 59, of Columbia, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy, after a brief illness. He was the husband of Judi Ruth Clawges with whom he celebrated 40 years of marriage this past January 15th.

Born in Lancaster, he was the son of Martha Wilson and stepson of Edward Wilson of Lancaster. He attended J.P. McCaskey and worked for Lancaster General Hospital for 34 years. His best friend, Sam Meyer, was by him until the end. Jim enjoyed his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, camping, and bowling.

In addition to his wife, Judi, and mother and step-father, are 3 sons: Wade Scott of Lancaster and James, Jr. and Justin Anthony, both of Columbia; 3 stepchildren: Wayne and Holly Markley of Lancaster, William and Theresa Markley of Pequea and Jodi and Bob Buohl of Columbia; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, and a step-grandson, Jason. He is also survived by 4 siblings, Charmaine of Lancaster, Rose of Columbia, Linda of Virginia and David, husband of Karen of Elizabethtown; 6 nieces, 1 nephew and 9 great nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial service 12 PM Sunday, October 2, 2011 at the Iron Horse Biker Church, 201 S. 2nd St., Wrightsville, PA 17368, phone 252-9905, officiated by Pastor Tim Adinolfi. He was truly an amazing and funny man!!! He will be greatly missed. I offer Judy, Justin, and my daughter Lauryn my deepest sympathy, as well as the rest of the family.
