Jack W. DeMorra, 81

Jack W. DeMorra, 81, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at his home. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George W. DeMorra, Jr. and Marie E. Grube DeMorra. He was married to Kathryn Steinbaecher DeMorra since November 21, 1961.

Mr. DeMorra graduated from McCaskey High school in 1946. He worked for John Hancock for over thirty-five years as a life insurance salesman. He served as president of the IWIU Local 241 and Area 6. Mr. DeMorra collected stamps, and was an avid bowler. He also enjoyed Avon and glassware.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Jolene Shankweiler, of Ohio, a son, Jack W. DeMorra II, husband of Susan, of Maryland; two step-daughters: Linda Fetter, of Lititz, and Robin, wife of David Midgley, of Phoenixville; a sister, Pauline Giberson, of Salunga; 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will take place on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. from the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home and Chapel, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA with Rev. Dale Parmer officiating. There will be a viewing from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Willow Street United Church of Christ Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603, or to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive P.O.
