Jack Graeter, Sr., 80

Jack Graeter, Sr., 80, of Lancaster, passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at home under care of Hospice. He was the son of the late Paul and Lucreta Graeter. Jack was the loving husband of Jean Graeter, celebrating their 61st wedding anniversary in December.
Jack retired from High Steel Structures. He was an avid bowhunter and, along with his buddy, Don Shipp, started the first Christian bow hunter charter in Lancaster County.
He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Lancaster and was a member of the Gideon International Ministry for over 30 years. He loved to share the Word of God with all he met, even during his chemo treatments at the cancer center.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Jean, are two children: Jack Jr. husband of Mary of Denver, PA, and Jill Sheaffer of Lancaster; his 3 grandchildren Jerry Graeter husband of Robin, Niki Goodman wife of James, and Kelly Graeter; and his 5 great grandchildren who were the joy of his life: Shane Graeter, Brynn Graeter, Taya Graeter, Hannah Goodman, and Ethan Goodman.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at 2:30PM. The family will received guests from 1:30-2:30PM. Burial services are private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may send contributions in Jack’s memory to First Assembly of God Church, 1025 Columbia Ave., Lancaster, PA 17603 or to Gideon’s International, Lancaster Central Camp, Box 192, Intercourse, PA 17534-0192.
