Ivson “IV” Shelley, 74

Ivson “IV” Shelley, 74, of Lancaster, passed away at the Lebanon VA Medical Center on Thursday, May 22, 2025. Born in Sunflower County, Mississippi, he was the son of the late Jessie and Ozella Ritchey Shelley. IV was the loving husband of Wanda Rivera Shelley.

He was a proud Marine Corps Veteran who served his country in the Vietnam war.

IV had a servant’s heart and he worked as a cook for various establishments where his food was enjoyed by countless. He loved tending to his garden at the county park and enjoying the fruits of his labor. His dog, Oprah, was his faithful companion and during football season you could find him rooting for the New York Giants.

He was a proud father who enjoyed providing for his family, they will remember him for his famous dishes such as his fish fries and chicken quesadillas. His smile was unforgettable, and he found joy in the friendliness of others and casual conversation.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are ten children, Cornelius Macadoo, Corry Shelley, Ivson Jr., Tracey, Shanea, Shaelyn, Trevor, Kyle, Celeste, and Derek Shelley as well as numerous grand and great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings, Georgia Johnson, Henrey Shelley and Modene Lewis. Preceding him in passing was a daughter, Laverne Shelley, and three brothers, Robert Ballard, Jessie Shelley Jr., and Floyd Shelley.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service at Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 East King Street, Lancaster, on Monday, June 2, 2025, at 12:00 Noon. There will be a viewing and time of visitation with the family from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Interment will be in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery.
