Mrs. Richards,
Since there was no picture with your husband’s obituary, I hope I have the right person. You don’t know me but your husband did if he is the person I think he is. I work at the Giant in the Lancaster Shopping Center and he was one of my customers. I think I have the right person because I saw Mr. Richards in the store at least a couple days a week and he hasn’t been in at all this week. I want you to know that he was one of my favorite customers because he was always very nice and friendly to me and I will miss seeing him at the store. Again I hope I have the right person and my condolences in your loss even if I’m not talking about the right person.
Sincerely,
Sandy

Mrs. Richards, Jenny, and the entire Richards family:

We are so sorry to hear of your loss.
Mr. Richards was a wonderful. giving person, always looking after Jenny.  Opened his home in West Chester County during our college years with Jenny for a wonderful and memorable New Year’s party.

Dear Ruth,
Sorry I am unable to attend the funeral of my dear friend Henry because of transportation problems here where I’m confined.  I hope you and Henry can get out of a commitment to the home were planning to move.  I’m sure one of your three daughters will assume responsibility since you are blind.  I would like to have your daughters communicate to me about your well-being.  I will certainly miss Henry after the many years that we been friends after starting to work for General Electric in 1944.
Sincerely,
Ben Heller
