Helene P. Toy, 89

Helene P. Toy, 89, of The Long Home, passed away on September 3, 2011 at the Susquehanna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Columbia, PA. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Maude (Simpson) Plumb.

Her husband, Edward J. Toy, preceded her in death in 2005 after 62 years of marriage.

She moved to Lancaster from Claymont, DE to join the family of her sister, Barbara, and the late Robert E. Walsh, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Leslie B. Plumb, Jr., and Frank B. Plumb.

Helene was employed by American Viscose and FMC Corp. until retirement in the 80’s. She was a beloved presence in the lives of her nieces and nephews, sharing holidays and vacations at the beach. Most recently Helene was a resident of The Long Home, where she enjoyed the friendship and care she received. Burial will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
