Helen Silvestri, 91
January 10, 2024
Helen A. Silvestri, 91, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, a beloved mother, wife, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Born in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Ragna Amundsen, Helen’s life was marked by love, joy, and a passion for the simple pleasures that brought her happiness.
She met her late husband of 59 years, Louis P. Silvestri, at the Chicago Theatre. It was love at first sight. Among her many accomplishments, Helen was a model for numerous products in print and television, and later a modeling agent for John Casablancas ELITE. Helen was the heart of her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, Kristine Silvestri and Louis H. Silvestri (Kelly), as well as her grandchildren Cory, Casey, Cole, and Louis V. Her legacy extends to her great-grandchildren Amber, Mia, Ava, and Braxton, who brought immense happiness to her later years.
She would often be seen riding her tractor, enjoying the sunshine, her hair, always styled to perfection, along with her signature sunglasses. Helen had a special affinity for the beach, particularly Wildwood. She was fluent in Norwegian and possessed a charming knowledge of the Italian language.
Known affectionately as the “Bird Lady of Gradyville,” Helen had a deep love for feathered friends and spent countless hours raising, feeding and caring for them. In her leisure moments, Helen enjoyed sipping scotch and water. Her warm laughter and infectious spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Services to celebrate Helen’s remarkable life will be held at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA, on January 19, 2024, at 2 pm. Visitation will take place prior to the service, beginning at 1 pm. Let us gather to honor and remember a woman whose legacy of love and joy will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Will be in Florida, otherwise I would be there to remember this beautiful, kind woman. She was very special.

Helen was a wonderful, sharing neighbor to Maude and Andrew Stowers. She was a delight with whom to converse. Helen was always optimistically full of life and love.
In the tapestry of life, where stories intertwine,
A dance of love and longing, a melody divine.
With hearts as fragile as petals kissed by the dawn,
We navigate this journey, where both joy and sorrow spawn.
Love, the compass guiding us through the darkest night,
A beacon shining brightly, igniting spirits’ flight.
In tender touch and whispers, secrets come alive,
Love weaves its magic spell, our souls forever tied.
Like rivers flowing freely, time carries us along,
Through landscapes ever-changing, where echoes of love belong.
We chase elusive moments, not knowing what we’ll find,
But love, a faithful companion, restores and realigns.
Then life, a complex canvas painted in vibrant hue,
We strive for understanding, for wisdom to pursue.
Through highs and lows we stumble, we triumph, and we fall,
Yet love’s embrace sustains us and mends the cracks in our soul.
For life, a precious gift, with its joys and its tears,
A journey we embark on, with hopes, dreams, and fears.
With open hearts, we navigate the twists and turns,
Embracing love’s sweet essence, the lesson that life yearns.
