Helen Mae Keperling, 96

Helen Mae Keperling, 96, of Lancaster, PA died peacefully Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Brethren Village. She was the wife of the late Donald L. Keperling who died in 2011. They were married for 66 years. Born in Lucknow, PA; she was the daughter of the late Albert (Jackie) and Carrie (Swalm) Strawser.
She graduated from McCaskey High School and Lancaster Business College. Helen was the office manager for her husband’s family business of L.R. Keperling & Sons. She was a lifelong member of Lancaster Grace Evangelical Congregational Church where she was very involved and taught Sunday school for 52 years. While living at Brethren Village, she attended the Chapel worship services there. Helen was also a Girl Scout leader, loved to play games, read, do jigsaw puzzles, crochet, craft, sew, loved to travel, and was a really good cook.
She is survived by her daughter Donna L. Reed wife of Russell from East Petersburg, PA; two grandchildren Michelle Stein wife of Phillip from EHT, NJ; and Matthew Reed husband of Janine from Mountville, PA; and one brother William H. Strawser husband of Kitty from Lancaster, PA. She also has four great-grandchildren Nathan and Alek Stein; and Evin and Cassidy Reed whom she adored.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 2PM from the Chapel of Brethren Village, 3001 Lititz Pike Lancaster, PA 17606. A visitation will be held one hour prior to her service in the Chapel. Interment will be held in Riverview Burial Park, Lancaster, PA.
