Helen M. Ream, 93

March 16, 1929 - August 22, 2022

Helen M. Shoop Ream, 93, passed away peacefully in her home on Willow Street Pike, surrounded by family, on Monday, August 22, 2022. Born in Strasburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Mary K. (Wright) Miles. Helen was the loving wife of Charles A. Ream, Jr., who passed away in 1998.

Helen worked as a toy maker for Hubley Manufacturing Company for 16 years. She also worked for Conestoga View as a nurse’s aide, retiring after 6 years of service. She enjoyed doing embroidery, putting puzzles together, and reading her bible. Helen was a member of Just As I Am Restoration Ministries in Lancaster where she was a member of the Women’s Group.

Helen is survived by her son, Ira David Shoop and his wife Patricia of Lancaster; two grandsons, David W. Shoop and Robert Shoop, Jr.; two great-grandsons; a stepbrother, Roy Miles and his wife Bev of Lancaster; a nephew, Dennis Shoop; and nieces Beth Ann Toms, Linda Snyder and Josephine Caudill. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Robert P. Shoop; an infant son; two brothers, Charles and Paul; three sisters, Mable, Dorothy and Elsie; and nephews, Charles Elwood Murray, Jr., John Shoop and Tom Murry.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584, where the family will receive guests beginning at 10:00 AM. Private family interment will follow at Conestoga Memorial Park.

My deepest sympathy to David and Patricia and David Jr. HELEN was an amazing woman.  She took my first husband Robert Murray when she was single and raised him. She was so good to me when I met her and married Robert. Rest in peace dear Helen.  I will always love you.  Mary Murray Brown 🙏❤️
