Helen L. Thompson, 79

Helen L. Thompson, 79, of Willow Street, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at Hospice & Community Care, Mt. Joy surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Willa (Gross) Blum. She celebrated 60 years of marriage with James M. Thompson on October 17th.
She was a 1952 graduate of JP McCaskey High School in Lancaster.
Helen enjoyed walking at Park City Mall with her friends, Friday night pizza with friends, getting together with her children and grandchildren and going to Hollywood casino.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
In addition to her loving husband James, she is survived by her 2 children, Timothy S. Thompson, husband of Cheryl and Vicky L. Giandalia, wife of Joseph, both of Wrightsville, PA. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Kelly T. Thompson, Scottie L. Thompson, Dylan T. Giandalia, Joseph J. Giandalia, and Tori E. Giandalia.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10AM on Monday, November 4, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 440 St. Joseph St, Lancaster, PA with Msgr. Thomas H. Smith as Celebrant. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Interment in St. Joseph’s New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Helen’s memory may be made to Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Woody and Family, You and Helen always treated me and mine like family. That is what I will always remember about Helen. I am sure she will be greeted by my dad in heaven.
