Helen Aldrich Habich, 79
Helen Aldrich Habich, 79, of Lititz, died on August 29, 2007 at the Essa Flory Hospice Center.
She was the daughter of the late Nathan Everett Aldrich and Helen Gouinlock Aldrich and grew up in Jamestown, New York. Helen graduated from Allegheny College in Meadville, PA, and earned her Masters in Education from New York University.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Robert H. Habich of Lititz, PA., a daughter, Carol wife of John Ford of Brownstown, PA and a granddaughter, Caroline Ford of Brownstown, PA.
Helen loved her family very much and was happiest when they were all together. She loved to read, solve New York Times crossword puzzles in ink, knit beautiful afghans , do needlepoint and counted cross-stitch. She was a faithful correspondent and avid baseball fan.
She is also survived by a brother, Herbert Aldrich of Virginia, a sister, Dorothy Wickersham of Ohio, a brother-in-law, David F. Anderson of New York, an Aunt, Dorothy Gundlach of New York, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Katherine Habich, and two sisters, Nathane Anderson and Barbara Aldrich.
Her family thanks Dr. Sam Rice for the many years of care and kindness, and Hospice of Lancaster County for their invaluable, gentle, loving care.
