Harold “Nunnie” Gant, 82

Harold “Nunnie” Gant, 82, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019, at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late George Spicer and Edith (Wise) Gant. Nunnie was the husband of Elizabeth H. (Williams) Gant with whom he celebrated 52 years of marriage on October 29, 1967.

Nunnie worked for many years in the manufacturing of burlap bags. He loved spending time with family and enjoyed playing cards and the lottery. In addition to his wife, Elizabeth, he is survived by his children: Harold Williams, Esther Williams, Vincent Williams, Dorothy Taylor, Terry Schaeffer, husband of Donna, Tina Morant, wife of Victor, Charles Williams, husband of Joann, and Joseph Schaeffer. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Nunnie was preceded in death by 7 siblings: Alberta Govan King, Hilda Stewart, Beulah Hudson, Henry Gant, Kenneth Gant, Yvonne Alfred, and Delores Stewart.

Funeral Services for Nunnie will be held at 12PM, Friday, December 6, 2019, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA 17602 with the Rev. Kevin Brown officiating. Family and friends will be received for a viewing from 11AM to 12PM at the funeral home. Following the services, Nunnie will be laid to rest at Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery, Lancaster.
