Harold Giles Wickersham, Jr., 77

Harold Giles Wickersham, Jr., 77, passed away at his Manheim Township home on Monday, February 6, 2023. Born in Lancaster, Giles was the son of the Harold G. Wickersham, Sr., and Rose (Gerstl) Wickersham.

Giles was a wonderful husband for his wife, Patricia A. (Horn) Wickersham, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage. They loved to go out to eat together, especially to Lyndon Diner, where Giles would order French Toast and crispy bacon, followed up with strawberry ice cream. They also loved to dance, and vacation at Rehoboth Beach and Ocean City, MD.

He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War, in theater. He was a member of Brendle-Coleman VFW Post #8795 in Adamstown, American Legion Post #34 in Lancaster, and AMVETS Post 19 in Lancaster.

Giles worked in the shipping and receiving department at the former Thompson 60 Case for 30 years. He was a life-member of the Sertoma Club of Conestoga.

Surviving Giles in addition to his wife Pat, are his sister Rose Boyer of Reading, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will take place Friday, February 10, 2023, at 3:30 PM with Rev. Jeremy McCombs officiating, at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Road, Lancaster, PA 17603.

Patsy, my sincere condolences to you and his family.  Uncle Bill notified me of Giles passing, keeping me in the family loop.  Please keep in touch.  Hopefully, we can get together the next time I travel from FL to PA.

Sorry for your loss Pat. Did not see the obit on Giles passing until Monday Feb 13, therefore I missed the service. Good memories of running around with Giles on Cabbage Hill in the 50’s and 60’s.
