Harlan F. “Shorty” Brenner, 94

Harlan F. “Shorty” Brenner, 94, of Willow Valley, formerly of Conestoga, went to be with his Lord on Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Glen at Willow Valley. Born in Highville, PA he was the son of the late Chester and Louella (Frey) Brenner. He was the loving husband of Arlene (Funk) Brenner with whom he shared over 72 years of marriage.
After graduating from Penn Manor High School, Shorty served in the US Army, stationed in Germany for 2 years then remaining on reserve for 6 more years.
He worked as a tinsmith with his father and a mail carrier before becoming a line supervisor at Armstong World Industries, retiring after 19 years of service.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael Brenner husband of Marcia of Lititz and Terri wife of Greg Landis of Lancaster. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Kevin (Kait), Neal (Lisa), Andrea, April (Shane), Joe (Lauren) and eleven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his four siblings.
Shorty’s interest included playing and watching baseball, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family. He was a founding member of the Hillside Hunting Club and enjoyed time spent at their cabin in Poe Valley. He also enjoyed vacationing at the Jersey shore.
He was a lifelong member of Green Hill United Methodist Church where he served in various areas.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30AM on Thursday, May 8, 2025, at Charles F. Snyder III Funeral Home & Crematory, 2421 Willow Street Pike, Willow Street, PA 17584. Interment will be private in Green Hill Cemetery, Conestoga. Family and friends will be received from 10AM-11:30AM at the funeral home on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Harlan’s memory may be made to the Millersville Meals on Wheels, 121 N. George St, Millersville, PA 17551.

Arlene, Terri, Mike and extended family.
Our condolences to all of you, Shorty will be missed, especially around the holiday table or summer gatherings. I always appreciated my conversations with him, not a lot of words but words of caring and appreciation. Our prayers are for Arlene and her support, may God Bless her through this difficult time.
