Gregory L. Anstett, 49

May 08, 2017

Gregory L. Anstett, 49, passed away surrounded by his loving family in his E. Hempfield Twp. home on Monday, May 8, 2017, following a long illness. He was born in Camp Hill to Leighton C. Anstett of York and the late Anne J. (Boyle) Anstett. Greg and his wife Diane A. (Myers) Anstett were married 26 years on May 4th.

A 1986 graduate of York Catholic High School, Greg completed his Bachelor’s in Communication and Journalism and a minor in Business in 1990 from Shippensburg University. He worked for Walmart for 10 years and then as a self-employed retail consultant.

Greg loved spending time with his family and was passionate about his sons’ activities and school events. He had a great sense of humor, was very charming and possessed an all-in committed and tenacious attitude towards life. He was a parishioner of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.

In addition to his wife Diane and father Leighton, Greg is survived by two sons, Alexander Gregory Anstett of London and Patrick Michael Anstett of Lancaster; and his sisters, Karen, wife of Michael Cummings and Patti, wife of Michael Brown, both of York.

Greg’s family will receive friends on Friday, May 12, 2017 from 10 to 11 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM with Rev. Peter I. Hahn as Celebrant, at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601. Interment in Holy Savior Cemetery, York, PA.

Leighton, Karen, Patty & Greg’s family:
It saddens me to learn of your loss.  I have not seen Greg since the days when I worked for you at Bon-Ton Leighton, and had the privledge of being invited into your home, on different occassions. I got to spend time with your family.  I remember Greg as being funny, charming and smart.  He will be missed.  All of you are in my thoughts and prayers.
