Grace E. Ursprung, 89

Grace E. (McKelvey) Ursprung, 89, formerly of Willow Street, passed away peacefully at the Mennonite Home, Lancaster, on Friday, October 26, 2012.

Born in Holtwood, she was the wife of the late Robert E. Ursprung, to whom she was married for 50 years.  She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Anna (Handel) McKelvey.

Grace was a payroll clerk at the Hamilton Watch Co. for over 25 years, and in her spare time enjoyed reading, walking, bird watching, baking, and helping others, including serving as a member of the Lancaster General Hospital Women’s Auxiliary.

During her lifetime, she was a devout member of St. Catherine of Siena, Quarryville, and the historic St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lancaster.  Most recently, she had been warmly welcomed at Mary, Mother of the Church, Mount Joy.

Grace was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

She will be dearly missed by her two daughters:  Nancy Parr of Lititz and Susan Ursprung of Lancaster; two grandchildren:  Jeremy Parr and Sara Walker; a brother, Joseph McKelvey, married to Helen; a sister-in-law, Marian McKelvey; a brother-in-law, John Ursprung; and a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.  She was preceded in death by two brothers:  Charles and Robert McKelvey, and a sister, Sister Mary Joanne McKelvey, I.H.M.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 AM Friday, November 2, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 119 S. Prince St., Lancaster, PA with The Rev. Leo Goodman III as Celebrant.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM to 8 PM Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster.  The rosary will be recited at 7 PM at the funeral home.  Friends will also be received at the church prior to the mass on Friday, from 8:45 AM to 9:45 AM.  Burial will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Quarryville.
