Condolences to the Family

Dear Mr. Ziegler,
Sincerest condolences.
I am doing some research on former teachers who taught in the Chambersburg Area School District. I had a Miss Georgia Mantell as an eighth grade Geography teacher in 1968-1969. I am wondering if the late Mrs. Ziegler would be one in the same. She was very kind to me and exhibited a wonderful smile.
I am very sorry to hear of her passing.
Please let me know if she is my former teacher. Thank you.
Best regards,
Linwood E. (Woody) Payne

Dear Tom and Matt and family members,
Frank, Sarah and Michael join me in sending you our condolences and prayers on the death of Georgia.
When Michael and Matt were together at Buchanan Elementary School, Georgia always welcomed Mike to play with Matt and join them on outings. She was a great and kind woman. Remember her well. So sorry to hear this news.
With love,
Anne (Orban)

Georgie and I shared a dormitory conjoined room with two other roommates at MU.
I am Rosemary Litz, 34 Black Oak Dr. Lancaster, PA 17602.
Georgie as we called her was sure to “state her case” on topics, esp. socially-charged issues.
When JFK was assassinated in 1963, Georgie was distraught and cried for weeks. She truly felt the meaning of this event in our country’s history.
Linda Helveston Chronnister and Betsy Ware were our other roommates.
I send my deepest sympathy for the loss of your wife, and to your son for his mother.
Georgie was sharp-witted, sharp-minded and sharp-tongued. As a teacher, Reading specialist in the L-S District for 39 years, I remember our deep chats and how we would be teachers. Looking back, I believe, Georgie was upset with her lisp and the fact that people “didn’t listen carefully.”
People were quick to dismiss thoughts that were indeed, perplexing.
We shared many a sub sandwich, coke and lots of laughter.
My deepest regrets for a dear friend that has traveled and journyed here on Earth.

I am heartbroken to have just learned of Georgia’s passing and my prayers are with Tom and his son and the rest
of her family. Georgia was a sweet, kind person. I know only too well what she was going through and how hard
it was for all. If it is any comfort, she is now in the hands of our loving God, Love, Patti Pfister
