Georgia K. Long, 67
June 11, 1957 - June 03, 2025
The family of Georgia K. Long wish to announce her passing on June 3, 2025, after a courageous battle with vascular dementia resulting from radiation treatments for meningioma in 1987. She was 67. The eldest daughter to George H. and Doris G. Long, Georgia was born on June 11, 1957, in Altoona, PA.
Georgia spent many years as a manager at KMart, where her dedication and warmth left a lasting impression on both her colleagues and customers alike. Beyond her professional life, she found profound joy in the simple pleasures of life. A passionate reader, she often lost herself in the pages of a good book. Her love for flowers and gardening allowed her to cultivate serene spaces, reflecting her nurturing spirit. Georgia’s heart was especially full when she was surrounded by her daughters, Tessa and Andrea, as they created beautiful memories through family gatherings and shared moments of laughter.
Beyond her immediate family, Georgia was dedicated to tracing her family’s genealogy, embracing her roots with love and gratitude. She also found companionship and joy in her beloved dogs, who were an integral part of her life.
Her world revolved around her family especially her daughters, Andrea Long and Tessa Long, both of Lancaster, siblings, Gary Long (Rose), Karen Long, Kevin Long (Valerie), Laurie Smith (Donald), Lisa Greaser (Mark), and Kristina Long, her aunts, Mary Lou Ritchey, Ann Harr (Terry), and Shirley Long, as well as many nieces and nephews that she cherished. She was preceded in passing by her parents, numerous aunts and uncles, and her beloved dog, Chester.
Georgia’s family will receive guests at a viewing on Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Charles F. Snyder Jr. Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA 17543 from 5 pm – 7 pm. A Funeral Service honoring Georgia will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the funeral home beginning at 11 am, with a viewing prior beginning at 10 am. Been praying for Georgia since news of her health decline. She was a devout believer and is in a better place. May God comfort you with the knowledge of being united with her when you leave this world. I remember her as a very nice and happy woman. Deepest sympathies to the family.
