George A. Santiago, 58

June 04, 2024

George A. Santiago Sr., 58, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. George was born to Antonio and Minerva Santiago in Puerto Rico and found his way to Lancaster PA where he made his home.

George was married to the love of his life, Sue Santiago, for 33 wonderful years. Together, they raised a beautiful family and built a life centered on faith, joy, and laughter.

A devout Christian, George was an active member of Journey Church where you will find him sitting in the third row in prayer and worship. His faith was a big part of his life, providing him with strength and comfort through all of life’s challenges.

Despite the hardship of illness, George was one who held onto positivity with a toothless grin. He was always ready with a joke and faced every day with courage. He was a fighter, never giving up.

George loved watching wrestling, especially with his grandboys. He was also an avid collector of toy cars, sunglasses, and watches. George also loved westerns and musicals, with “The Wizard of Oz” being his all-time favorite and Scarface being a close second.

George is survived by his beloved wife Sue, and his children Jazmin, Jennifer (wife of Michael), and Jorge Jr. (husband of Kimberly). He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Gabriel, David, Noah, Lucas, and the soon-to-arrive baby Lazarus. George is also survived by his siblings Milton, Hector, Yolanda, and Ariel. Preceding him in his passing are his brothers Jose, and Tony and his mother Minerva.

A memorial service to celebrate George’s life and legacy will be held at Journey Church, 202 Hartman Bridge Rd, Ronks, PA 17572 on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at 6 pm. His family invites all who knew and loved him to join them for an hour of visiting before service beginning at 5 pm. The family asks guest to please consider wearing a red item in honor of George.

Dear Brother Your Memory Will Never Fade
My dear Brother now that you are gone You’re no longer here to share The bond we had together- A bond of love and care. Yet, somehow something tells me You are watching over me Now that from Worldly cares You finally are free. I miss you so very much, And my tears I cannot hide Yet, within my heart, I feel You are always by my side. Ever since you went away Life has never been the same Yet, it comforts me to know That one day we’ll meet again.
