I had the pleasure of working with Ray for almost two years. During that time, he was so kind, considerate, funny, and engaging. As a student employee, he took a genuine interest in what I was doing on campus whether it be in class or extracurriculars. I genuinely loved working beside him. His interests always astounded me, as they were so wide reaching, making him a true renaissance man. We could talk about anything from history to current events to literature to music and art, conversations which came so easily and made my laborious work of unpacking boxes so much better. I can honestly say that during those two years, he became more than a co-worker and boss to me, but a friend. He’s such a smart, interesting man who will be sorely missed by all. My deepest condolences to the family.

Ray helped me prepare my classes for 30 years.  He was so kind, generous, and composed. I was sorry to be out of town for the funeral and miss the chance to offer my condolences in person. With great sympathy, Louise Stevenson

As a staff person in the Math & Computer Science departments at Franklin & Marshall College, I had the pleasure of working with Ray several times each semester for the past 14 years during textbook ordering and delivery time.  Always appreciated his cheery and helpful manner, and his friendliness in saying “hello” and chatting a bit when out and about on campus.  My sincere sympathy to all of the family; he spoke of you all so fondly and I could tell he treasured each one of you. Peace, Cindi Dinger

As a faculty member at F&M from 1988 until 2007, I always found Ray to be very hardworking, friendly, and almost saintly in accommodating those faculty who rarely placed their book orders on time.  He seemed resigned to this fact, never complaining, always cheerful.  And he was invariably responsive to my requests.  My heart goes out to his family, whom I do not know.  I’m sure you are all sorely missing him.  Dorothy Louise

I am so glad I had the opportunity to share in Ray’s friendship over the past several years. I played trivia with him (and Anna) a few times a week. I will remember his laughter, his jokes, his taste in movies, ordering iced tea (like me) and meatball stromboli’s, his tender smile and kind personality, his thoughtfulness, sharing comments on Y&R and so much more…these are only some of the highlights of my friend who has gone before me. Hope to see you again Ray.  — One of the Fabulous Screaming Gophers (trivia team name)– Steve DiGuiseppe

Dear Fulton Family,
It seems like just yesterday that we were neighbors on Pleasesant View Drive. I fondly remember Ray asking me to go up the street to shoot basketball with him on a number of occasions. This may not seem like a big deal, but when you are only 12 years old, having a 18 year old ask you to hang out with them was pretty cool. I will always remember Ray for being a kind and gentle person. I will be out of town this weekend, so unfortunately I will not be able to attend the service. My condolennces to the family during this difficult time.
Regards,Gary R. Erb
