Francis B. J. DiCola, 79

Francis B. J. DiCola, 79, Lancaster, PA passed away on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Conestoga View Nursing Home. He was born in Lancaster to the late Quirino A. and Maria R. (Carello) DiCola. He was married to the late Mary A. Brignola for 41 years.

He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church and a former member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church.

Francis retired as a Store Manager after thirty-three years with Food Fair-Pantry Pride.

Francis was an avid sports fan. His favorite two teams were the Phildelphia Phillies and Eagles. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, baseball cards, spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving are four daughters, Marie Rose, wife of John Fischer, of Lancaster, Susan Marie, wife of John Heiselman, of Lancaster, Francine, wife of Craig Stipe, of Millersville, and Donna Ann, wife of Carmen Chiarelli, of Lancaster, five grandchildren, Amanda, Quirine, Colin, Adam, and John, and a brother Quirino DiCola, Jr., of Lancaster. He was preceded in death by a sister Joanna Reidenbach of Lancaster.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 26, 2009 at 11am from Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church 558 W. Walnut St. Lancaster, PA with Rev. Michael E. Messner as Celebrant. A viewing will be at the church from 10-11am. Final Farewell and Commendation will take place from St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Francis’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County 685 Good Dr. PO Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604 or to the St. Jude Shrine 308 N.
