March 11, 2017
Frances M. (Selinko) Guscott, 90, of Millersville, PA entered into eternal rest on March 11, 2017 after a long illness. Frances was born in Saint Clair, PA on January 23, 1927 and was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Kurtz) Selinko. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bernard Selinko, her sister Elizabeth (Selinko) Lorenz, and her infant sister, Mary Selinko. She graduated from the Saint Clair High School business program and was employed by Reading Coal and Iron in Pottsville, PA, Schick Industries in Lancaster, PA, RCA Corp. in Lancaster, PA and the Wilton Armetale Company in Columbia, PA.
For almost 61 years, Frances was the beloved wife of Melvin W. Guscott, and she is also survived by her son, William M. Guscott, husband of Diane, of Lititz, PA and her daughter, Carol A. (Guscott) Jansen, wife of Keith, of Saint Cloud, FL. She was the cherished grandmother of Eric and Evan Jansen and Andrea Guscott.
Frances was a woman of deep faith who was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Saint Clair and Saint Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Millersville. An avid dancer, she was an active member of the Dutchland Polkateers, and she was a long-time member of Guys and Dolls where she served as co-chairman of the attendance committee. Frances loved to travel, and she and her husband enjoyed trips to many destinations in the US and around the world. Her favorite activity, however, was spending time with her husband, her 2 children and their families, and her many friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am on Friday, April 28 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA 17603. Mr. Guscott, Carol, Bill and family…
Our deepest sympathies to you all. So many fond memories of the old neighborhood. What a great place to grow up, playing outside from morning till night. And playing “house” in your basement on rainy and cold days. Great times. May God be with you all during this trying time.
Love to all….Rick and Lisa Mickle
