I will always remember Uncle Forney as a jovial man. He was “Big Time” and fun to talk to. A joyful heart is good medicine, and from my memory of Uncle Forney, he took “good medicine” often. He will be missed, but I know he’s with his wife, Aunt Kit, for eternity, and that’s comforting. – Barb (Huber) Zmolek

Joanne and I want to extend our condolences to Forney’s family. We have attended Middle Creek Church for the last 14 years and always enjoyed talking to Forney. I grew up on a farm along Fruitville Pike 2 or 3 miles from Forneys farm and always knew his name but never got to know him until we attended the same Church.
Again, you have our sympathy at this time.

During my elementary school years, our family lived beside Forney’s parents, my brothers worked for him at times. I remember sorting sheep and hanging out on Sundays with Mary Kay and the family. When I saw Forney’s picture, one memory I have of Forney is him sitting behind the wheel of their big yellow/gold car, stopped at the bottom of our drive way waiting on me on Sunday mornings to go to church filled my mind and made my heart smile. Our deepest sympathies go out to family and gratitude for having the chance to spend a little time with a great man.
Much love and prayers,

Forney was a friend from Middle Creek Church. Although our personalities were completely opposite, we enjoyed each other’s humor and had a couple things in common: we both had farming in our backgrounds, and both of us lost our spouses. There were several enjoyable experiences traveling with Forney including to Southeast Asia in 2009 and to Scandinavia in 2014. I also drove him to several farm organization conferences in the local region. As a volunteer at Brethren Village, I had many opportunities to visit Forney while he resided there. This dear Christian brother will be sorely missed.
