Florence A. Van Cleve, 92
Florence A. Van Cleve, 92, of Willow Street, died Sunday, December 9, 2012, at the Lancaster General Hospital. Born in West Lampeter Twp., she was the daughter of the late John S. and Eleanora Houck McEllhenney. Her husband of 66 years George F. Van Cleve, Sr. died in 2005.
A graduate of the former West Lampeter High School, Florence worked in the fabric department of Watt & Shand for 12 years. She was a former member of Willow Street U.C.C. Church. Florence enjoyed sewing, quilting and gardening. Her love for Lancaster County was so deep.
Florence is survived by 3 children: George F. Van Cleve, Jr., husband of Claire of Strasburg, Peggy, wife of Emil Korol of Seattle, WA, and Roberta, wife of Gene Brown of Willow Street; 8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her brother Carl McEllhenney of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.
Friends will be received Wednesday, December 12, 2012 from 10:30-11AM at the Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 441 N. George St., Millersville, with the funeral to follow at 11AM, officiated by Rev. Ronald Bohannon. Interment in Boehm’s United Methodist Cemetery.
