Fern A. Carr, 83

Fern A. Carr, 83, of Lancaster, died Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Essa Flory Hospice Center. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Margaret Wanner Walters. Fern was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Carr in 1980.

She was a production worker in the watch making department at Hamilton Watch Co. and then Bulova, from where she retired. Fern enjoyed bowling and word puzzles. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Fern is survived by 3 children, Shirley A., wife of Richard J. Adair, Sr., Debra M. Bleacher and Robert L., husband of Jackie Carr, all of Lancaster, 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and her siblings Melvin, husband of Janet Walters and Beverly Kleeman. Fern’s sister Marian Lehman preceded her in death.

The Funeral will take place 11 AM, Friday, July 27, 2012, at Charles F. Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 414 E. King St., Lancaster, PA. The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM at the funeral home. Interment in Riverview Burial Park. I am so sorry for your loss. I worked with Fern at the Hempfield plant of Bulova. I remember when we had a retirement party for her and gave her a silver plated deburring tool! She was a great lady.
