Felicé “Fil” Pasquale Sabatino Caggiano, 88

Felicé “Fil” Pasquale Sabatino Caggiano, 89, of Lancaster, PA passed away August 15, 2015 at home. He was the husband of the late Arlene (Denoncour) Caggiano.
Born in Queens, NY he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Vincenza (Sacco) Caggiano. He earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Indiana Tech and served his country in the US Army during WWII. Fil used his engineering degree to help design the Verrazano Bridge, Penn Station, LaGuardia and JFK airports along with their runways and parking area. He also built and designed his own home and was a founding member of the Carteret Co. Library in NC. Fil enjoyed building and flying his model airplanes, woodworking, gardening, stamp collecting. He was a loving and devoted husband to his wife of 62 years and to his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his five children Mark Caggiano and wife Carolea of GA, Kim Caggiano of GA, Cora Caggiano and companion Jay Long of Lancaster, PA, Lisa wife of Peter Thorsen of Pequea, PA and David Caggiano and wife Jeanne of Willow Street, PA; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; four sisters Carolann, Marie, Marguerite and Virginia; one brother Gerald Caggiano. Mr. Caggiano was preceded in death by a sister Ann and a brother Joseph.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of his family.
