Eugene “Gene” B. Tabbutt, 89, of Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday October, 8, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care. He was the loving husband of Gwendolyn (Lowe) Tabbutt to whom he was married to for 62 years.

He enjoyed singing with the Red Rose Barbershop Chorus and the church choir for many years. Gene loved to play golf, especially at Overlook Golf course. He enjoyed TV and playing poker with the gang but most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends.
He will always be remembered by his awesome sense of humor.
In addition to his loving wife, Gwen, he is survived by his four children, Deborah Goodhart wife of Kenneth of Harrisburg, David Tabbutt husband of Joan of Hershey, Gary Tabbutt and companion, Sue Miller of Willow St., and Jill Caci wife of William of Manheim, seven grandchildren, Brandon Tabbutt husband of Alicia, Kevin Tabbutt, Jaclyn Shoff wife of Ben, Tyler Tabbutt, Taylor Tabbutt, Jared Hall, Kristen Caci and companion, Chris Keeney, and Peter Caci, and three great-grandchildren.

Condolences to the Family
October 12, 2017
Our deepest sympathy to your family in the loss of your Dad. For several years I drove Gene to the Red Rose Barber Shop rehersals and I thoroughly enjoyed his company at rehersals, as well as on the Overlook Golf course in Lancaster.

I was sorry to read about Gene’s passing. I worked with Gene for many years at RCA/Burle, and after he and “the gang” retired, I organized luncheons for us all to get together for quite a few years after that. I laughed when I read in the obit about his awesome sense of humor, because that was certainly true. I remember him talking on the phone to the lady at our RCA plant in Somerville, NJ and saying to her on the phone “Don’t get your girdle in an uproar”. My condolences to Gwen and the rest of the family.
