One year later and it still feels so fresh.  Aunt Ellen, I love you so much. It is hard to think about the struggles you faced in your last years. I try to remember the better times…the Phillies games and Florida trips, your laugh, all the messages you would send me, almost every day.  You remain one of the most loving and generous souls I know, and I will cherish our memories forever.

I am so sorry for your loss!  Ellen was always so much fun to be with when we had our family get togethers, even when it was for sad occasions.  Know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  I hope that Ellen is happy to be with Aunt Marian and Uncle Joe again.

Sissy,
I find myself thinking “gotta text Ellen”, be it about the Phillies or General Hospital or just about life. I’m alternating between sad and mad. Sad for the pain you felt and mad that it manifested itself in destructive ways. I hope you know how loved you were…It’s so weird to say “I have four siblings” after saying “five” for the past 58 years.  Like Tom said, it’s not supposed to happen like this that the youngest is gone first.
