Elizabeth Boyer Heisler “M.E.B”, 90

Elizabeth Boyer Heisler “M.E.B.”, 90, formerly of Rosemont, PA, died Monday November 12, 2012, at Lakeside at Willow Valley, Willow Street, PA. Daughter of the late Daniel B. and Blanche Rigner Boyer, she was born in Boyertown, which was named after her father’s family. Her husband of 57 years Clifford Budd Heisler died in 1999.

Elizabeth graduated from The Baldwin School in Bryn Mawr. She attended Mount Holyoke College, Rosemont College and the Institute de Francaise in Villefranche-sur-Mer, France. She served as vice president and acting president of the Philadelphia Mount Holyoke College Alumnae Association.

M.E.B. volunteered at the Valley Forge Veterans Hospital with the American Red Cross rehabilitating blind and badly injured WW II soldiers. She was a volunteer guide at the Strawberry Mansion in Fairmount Park. M.E.B. was a member of Ardmore Presbyterian Church, The Franklin Institute and she was formerly involved in Republican Women of PA, Hannah Penn House.

A homemaker, Elizabeth had a wonderful sense of humor. She was a watercolor and oils artist and enjoyed doing lacework and ceramics using her kiln in the basement. M.E.B. snow skied into her early 80’s and travelled throughout Europe.

Surviving are her sons, Clifford B. “Chris” Heisler, Jr., husband of Doris of Penn Valley, CA, and James B. Heisler, husband of Beth of St. Louis, MO; her granddaughters Alison Heisler, wife of Paul Mersmann, and Brianne Heisler, and her great-grandson Ray Mersmann, all of St. Louis, MO. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her siblings Daniel B. Boyer, Jr. and James K. Boyer.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, December 15, 2012, in the Johnson Auditorium of Willow Valley Manor North, 600 Willow Valley Manor North, Lancaster, PA 17602, with The Rev. Glenn Creveling officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service. Interment will be private.
