Eleanor Louise Stevens, 92

Eleanor Louise Stevens, 92, of Lancaster, died peacefully in her sleep, Monday, July 24, 2017, after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Anna (Irwin) and Henry Stevens.
She graduated in 1943 from J.P. McCaskey High School in Lancaster, PA. Ellie worked as a sales associate/assistant buyer at the former Hagar’s Department Store in Lancaster. Prior to retirement, she worked at the Lancaster Country Club for 10 years as an office clerk.
She was an active member of St. Luke’s UCC in Lititz, PA. She is survived by 5 nephews, 1 niece and their families.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Luke’s UCC, 222 N. Broad Street, Lititz, PA 17543.

I am so sorry to see that Eleanor has passed away. She was such a lovely person. I have to say she always had an elegant air about her. Her laugh and smile were quite radiant. I enjoyed getting to know her and the rest of the Stevens family over the years. I have thought about her often. I use to do Eleanor’ s hair for years. And once it became too hard for her to travel to my salon I lost contact with her. I hope the family is doing well and know that she was quite proud of all of you. Lucille Millhouse
