Eileen M. Carey, 81
Eileen M. Carey, 81, formerly of 1108 Country Place Drive in Lancaster, died Thursday evening at the Mennonite Home where she had been residing.
Eileen was the wife of the late William F. Carey, who died in 2004. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Katharine Banzhof Fritsch.
Eileen was employed by Armstrong prior to her marriage to William F. Carey and then later became a homemaker. She was a member of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Eileen was a member of the Silver Threads and an avid bridge player.
She is survived by her 3 sons: Thomas F. and Mark J., married to Mary Carey, both of Chesterbrook, PA, and William F. married to Marianne of Blandon, PA; her 4 grandchildren: Erinn, Ryan, David and Thomas; and a sister Geraldine married to Stanton Smith of Georgia. She was preceded in death by a brother Elvin Fritsch and her sisters, Jeanne Armstrong and Dorothy Rittenhouse.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 930-1030AM at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601, with the Mass to follow at 1030AM with the Rev William Sullivan as Celebrant. Interment at the convenience of the family.
