Eileen D. Tierney, 93

Eileen D. Tierney, 93, of Landisville, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017 at Hospice & Community Care in Mount Joy. Born in Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Teresa (Brucker) Ormsby, and the wife of the late Aloysius J. Tierney who passed in 1996.
Over the years, Eileen worked as a paraprofessional and librarian in the Neptune School system in Neptune, NJ. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Millersville.
Eileen is survived by her daughters Maureen P. Vogel and her husband Samuel of Landisville, and Cathy E. Maddox and her husband Kevin of Manheim, and her son Robert J. Tierney, also of Manheim. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Laura Vogel of Valley Forge, Mark Vogel of Landisville, and Samantha, Robert, Nicolas and Rebecca Maddox of Manheim. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her sister, Joan Murphy, wife of Jay Murphy, of Florida
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Friday, December 22, 2017 at St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church, 2111 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA, 17603, where family and friends will be received from 10-11AM. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at 12:00 Noon at St. Anne Cemetery, 1610 Allenwood Road, Wall, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Eileen’s memory may be made to Hospice & community Care, 4075 Old Philadelphia Pike, Mount Joy, PA, 17552, or to Oak Leaf Manor North Activity fund, 2901 Harrisburg Pike, Landisville, PA 17538.
