Eileen Burkey

Eileen Burkey, of Denver, PA, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 6, 2016. Born in Landisville, she was the daughter of the late Paul F. and Miriam Summy Drescher. She was married to the late Harry Burkey.
Eileen had worked for 30 years at Charles Laundry until her retirement in 2010. She had also cleaned at many nursing home facilities earlier in years past.
She loved going to yard sales, going out to eat, word search puzzles, watching movies, reading her paper daily, and going to Green Dragon and Central Market. She loved her cats, Olivia, her best friend for the past 17 years, her fat cat Tabby, and her grand-dog, Stella. She was very giving to the Lancaster ORCA and Humane League. Her greatest accomplishment was her family and she enjoyed spending time with them.
Eileen is survived by her sons: David married to Kelly Burkey of Enola and James married to Esther Burkey , with whom she lived in Denver; her 6 grandchildren: David, Kyle, Brian, Jim, Michelle, and Kevin Jr.; her 2 great grandchildren Ethan and Kevin III; her brother Harold married to Judy Drescher of New Holland; and her sisters, Gladys Casakoff of Kew Gardens, NY and Ruth Grant of Lititz. She was preceded in death by her son Kevin, her granddaughter Christine Garman, her great granddaughter Hannah Garman, and her brother, Kenneth Drescher.
Friends will be received on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 1-2PM at the Charles F. Snyder Jr Funeral Home & Crematory, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz, PA, with the Funeral Service to follow at 2PM. Interment will be private.
