I was lucky enough to meet Ed and his family through my late husband, Jeff Shank. Ed shot pool with us on our Monday night team. He was a great coach and had patience with me (I was not a good pool shooter). I enjoyed our Monday night matches. We have lost a good man. My thoughts are with the Kirchner family at this time.

Well, I was not counting on this today. For starters what a Great Coach and FRIEND. I played with Phil for Ed on the St. Joe A Team way back in the early 1970’s.  We actually won the Divisional Championship. Then of course me and Phil (Son of Ed) played for Catholic for 3 years at Lancaster Catholic. I knew the whole KIRCHNER FAMILY WELL. People fail to understand the “Family-Like” us Catholics were. Remember, most of Lancaster County was Protestant. My graduating class at Lancaster Catholic was only about 170, compared to about 1,000 at Mckaskey, and by the way WE BEAT McCaskey every year, and I started every year, from sophmore to senior year. I used to see Ed Shooting Pool not that many years ago. Condolences to Mrs. Kirchner and the rest of the Kirchner Clan. Nothing but GREAT MEMORIES FOR ME! Godspeed, Ed. Always, Stan J.
