Edward M. Jakway, Jr.
April 24th – Lancaster, PA. Slipped away after complications from diabetes at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Camden, NJ, son of the late Edward and Emma (Ab bott) Jakway. He was of the Baptist faith. A U.S. Army Veteran of the Battle of the Bulge of World War II. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania. Retired from the 3M Company after 34 years of dedicated service. Divided his time between Lancaster and the camp he built in the Adirondacks. He was a fine sportsman throughout his life. He loved people and was loved and admired by all who knew him. Greatly missed by his beloved wife, Margaret (Steck), with whom he celebrated 57 years of marriage. His loss is profoundly felt by his loving family: the Steck, Rogers and Weiford families. A memorial service will be planned at a later time.
