Hi Laura, sorry to hear that Edward lost his battle with cancer.  I’m sure he will be greatly missed.  I know all too well how it feels to be a widow so I’m sure you & your kids are feeling all kinds of emotions right now.  Allow yourself time to grieve, and know that time for everyone is different.

Dear Laura, Carl, Erin and Shannon,
My family and I wish to extend our sincere condolences for your loss.  Ed was a good friend in the short time I was able to work with him.  I will cherish the fond talks when we would reflect on our childhood days back home.  I will miss his warm and kind smile.  Please know that he was respected and loved – and will be missed by many.
Love and Peace,
David and Michele Zikeli and Family.

It was so good to see your wonderful family again, although I wish it could have been under other circumstances. We know you will miss Ed so much, what a wonderful husband and father! Laura, we were all envious of you! You have many wonderful memories and a once in a lifetime love to carry you through in the days ahead. Cherish them and hold tight to them. The days ahead will be difficult but you will always have the memories. Carl and Shannon, make your Dad proud as you wrap up your last years at Virginia and good luck to both of you. Erin and Dan, you have a great example to follow as you now become parents. And Laura, we will think of you often and pray that God’s hand leads you. Take care, and know that he will be missed; he has left a great legacy.
Love,

I was greatly saddened to hear about your loss. I have fond memories of the big picnic in your back yard with Ed in charge of the grill, and the weekend Mabel and I spent at the house in Ocean City. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Hold on to your friends and all the great memories that have accumulated over the years. May God bless you.

I would like to send my Deepest Sympathy to you, Laura and your family.  I’m so sorry for your loss.  I remember the wonderful times we worked together When you substituted, for the nurse, at Warwick High School.  You always talked about Ed and the kids.  I will always remember his thoughtfulness, the time he brought you a McDonald’s breakfast sandwich and coffee, and brought me the same.  I’m still there.  He will be missed.
