Edward A. LaCava, 84

Edward A. LaCava, 84, passed away at his Lititz home surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, January 21, 2017. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to the late Anthony and Maria Vergona LaCava. Ed celebrated 54 years of marriage with his wife Trudy F. Brennan LaCava last February 16th.

Ed was a disabled veteran, having served as an E-3 Radarman in the US Navy during the Korean War. He then held the position of director of the calibration laboratory at Lakehurst, NJ Naval Air Station. He moved his family from New Jersey to retire in Lititz 29 years ago.

In Lakewood, NJ, Ed served as a Boy Scout Leader. Also a 4-H Leader, his family group was known as “Edward’s Gang”. Here in Lititz Ed and Trudy were active in People to People International, having hosted many guests from around the world. Fishing, photography and cabinetry woodworking were some of his favorite pastimes.

In addition to his loving wife Trudy, Ed is survived by their five children: Pamela Montemagno, wife of Carlo of Alberta, Canada, Maria E. Corwin, wife of Richard of Endicott, NY, Michael LaCava, husband of Elizabeth of Akron, Carrieann Holt and friend Vito Gullo of Allenhurst, NJ and Jennifer L. Ross, wife of Alexander of Lititz; as well as their 16 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by their son Jeffrey LaCava, grandson Thomas LaCava and his two siblings.

Graveside Services with Military Honors accorded will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pennsylvania Wounded Warriors, Inc., 1117 Country Club Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
